A Study On Ecological Thought Of Confucian

It is known to all that we are facing the unprecedented ecological crisis since the formation of the earth. The negative effects, resulting from global climate change, over-exploitation on land, deforestation, overfishing and environmental pollution,etc.,have seriously threatened the living conditions of human beings. Therefore, many scholars are beginning to pay attention to the ecological issues and carry out the corresponding research.Confucianism,considered as the"trunk"of Chinese traditional culture, cares for the problem of human existence,and contains ecological thought which are not only rich but also deep. Clearly, to do some deep research on ecological thought of Confucian has a certain practical significance and these research should not be underestimated.This paper has done some research on ecological thought of Confucian from a modern perspective.The first part puts forward the background of this research, the importance of this research and the current situation of this research.The second part mainly analyzes the philosophical foundation of ecological thought of Confucian. Ecological thought of Confucian was established on the basis of the philosophical foundation—"the way of nature"and"harmony between human and nature"."The way of sky"highlights the intrinsic value of nature and the objective laws."Harmony between human and nature"mainly emphasizes inherent unity between man and nature.The third part reviews the main content of ecological thought of Confucian. The contents of ecological thought of Confucian are rich and comprehensive. These ideas includes: the benevolent care for life, which shows such ecological feelings as love for nature and respect for life; the institution and norm about"the employment of the people at the proper seasons",which shows how to follow the natural law and achieve sustainable development when exploiting and utilizing natural resources; the concept of living about"thrifty and contentment", which objectively has the role of ensuring the following consumption and maintaining ecological harmony.The fourth part analyzes and expounds the main characteristics of ecological thought of Confucian. Ecological thought of Confucian emphasizes harmony between man and nature, and practices concept of development vitalizing and going on endlessly. In addition, ecological thought of Confucian differents not only with anthropocentrism but also with non-anthropocentrism.The fifth part mainly discuss the contemporary value of ecological thought of Confucian. The essence of ecological thought of Confucian,such as the love for nature, the care for life, the protection for environment and resources,has important practical value. These ideas not only provide a reference perspective of how to solve the ecological problems in the world, but also provide an ideological inspiration for the ecological civilization construction and sustainable development, and help us to establish a correct view on nature, a correct development concept and a correct outlook on life.
