| Since the emergence of copycat cell phones in 2003, the phenomenon of shanzhai (The word shanzhai originally means"mountain village", but the term was given new life in China implying any type or form of"imitation".) rapidly spreads everywhere from north to south China. Its spreading speed is so amazing that it has spred to all areas of life, from shanzhai cell phones to shanzhai computers, from shanzhai super stars to shanzhai Chinese New Year Galas, from shanzhai clothing to shanzhai TV series. In fact, the phenomenon of shanzhai becomes more and more popular and has from the economic behavior gradually evolved into a social and cultural phenomenon. And this evolution has caused constant discussions and debating of shanzhai culture among people in the field. This thesis will start from shanzhai culture, analyzing its cultural phenomenon, causes for being popular, characteristics and the comparison with other cultural forms. With analysing shanzhai culture as its basis, this thesis will research and analyse shanzhai films and TV series dialectically. From the perspectives of the phenomenon, characteristic and cause for being popular, the thesis will refine, summarize and sum up the problems with the help of case studies. It will also do a more comprehensive and detailed research about the shanzhai films and TV series systematically so as to show us the form and characteristics of TV series explicitly and procide a clear creative ideas for people in the field. Finally, the thesis leads people in the field to the thinking of the issue about shanzhai culture on our TV series'creation and points out the evergreen TV series road at the end of the thesis, respectively discussing the hidden danger behind the popularity of shanzhai TV series.The whole thesis forms a framework, which contains asking, analyzing and solving problems, hoping to contribute my poor power to films and TV series creation in the future for our country's film and television creators. |
