Researches On The Communication Contents Of The Shanzhai Culture

With the word SHANZHAI becoming popular and inundant, various SHANZHAI products emerging, diverse SHANZHAI phenomenon appearing and reported by the main media, SHANZHAI has been swiftly evolving into a new culture from the only economical action.SHANZHAI culture has experienced three upsurging years and still has a fiercer tendency. Why SHANZHAI culture is so powerful? What is included in the SHANZHAI culture? And what effect it produces? All these are the main topics of this dissertation.The first chapter includes the origin and the characteristic of the word SHANZHAI and SHANZHAI culture,in order to help the readers have a fundamental grasp with the SHANZHAI phenomenon.The next chapter is concerned about the content of the SHANZHAI culture. The author has done a deep research in the origin of SHANZHAI culture from SHANZHAI mobile phones, SHANZHAI brands and SHANZHAI Spring Festival gala evenings. Because of SHANZHAI phones as the originator of SHANZHAI culture, the author has expatiated the background of SHANZHAI phones and its technology and system, which exposes why this industry is still profitable though SHANZHAI phones are sold in the price of one third or fourth of the brand phones.In the third chapter, the author expatriates SHANZHAI culture by means of the carnival theory of Mikhail Bakhtin. In the previous part, the author introduces the carnival theory. Then the author concluded that Chinese hasn't its own real carnival until the media of internet and information and communication technology provide the unusual carnival sites in reality.The rising SHANZHAI culture which is welcomed by common people has many reasons. The author analyzes the real reason of SHANZHAI culture obsessed by manufactories and consumers from the aspect of demand factors, market factors, internet factors, profit factors and the national situation factors.SHANZHAI culture, as the common cultural phenomenon, brings lots of social problems. The author analyses what effect the SHANZHAI culture brings towards the mainstream culture from the positive and negative points.Finally, the author probes into the direction of SHANZHAI culture. Everyone should accept this new culture in more of tolerant attitude than hostile attitude so as to absorb the essence and discard the dross.
