The Stylistic Features And Translation Of Business Contracts

China has enhanced exchange and cooperation with the countries all over the world since it entered WTO. And with international businesses'increasing, more and more business contracts occurring in so many industries. Correspondingly, the translation of business contracts has become much more important, and it is also the vital element to translate business contracts correctly and accurately in order to make sure economic activities can go smoothly. Although so many scholars have raised several translation theories at home and abroad since long time ago, such theories just focus on the literature fiend. What's heartening is that recent years many scholars such as Liu Fagong, Zhang Xinhong, Du Jinbang, and Dong Xiaobo put forward many theories which are significant to some practical types of writing-- business, law and advertisement and they offer direct help to business contract translation. Due to the special functions of business contracts, they have distinctive characteristics from vocabulary, syntax, to text and it is crucial for us to get clear of such features to the translation of them. Thanks to stylistics, we can analyze the peculiarity of English business contracts more concretely and systematically. Meanwhile, it can also offer a direct help to their translations.This thesis introduced the achievements in the business field, and analyzed the stylistic features of business contracts at lexical, syntactical and textual levels. Correspondingly, it explored the concrete methods at each level. Meanwhile, the thesis raised the requirements for the business contracts translators. The author hopes the thesis could offer some help to the translation of business contracts.
