Chinese painting landscape as an important form or category has a long history and tradition. It originated from the Han, developed in Wei and matured in Sui and Tang Dynasty. Painting landscape was pushed a unprecedented historical peak by especially Huang Gongwang, Wu Zhen, Ni Zan and Wang Meng from the Song to Yuan Dynasty. They have a very important historical position in the Chinese painting history. This article will attempt to discuss systematically art creation, aesthetic characteristics, theoretical significance and historical influence of the Yuan Dynasty landscape painting.The article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter analyses political, economic, ideological and cultural background, emphatically from the political analysis of Yuan Dynasty rulers implemented national-origin discrimination and oppression Han nationality policy and produce strong opposition against literati moods. Meanwhile the economic relatively stable development and the ideological and cultural policy relatively loose make the Han literati concede society, reclusive mountain forest or also hid also be an a official,and they are committed to painting, it's reasonable and necessary for them to express their heart by painting.The second chapter discusses the aesthetic characteristics of the four artists in Yuan Dynasty landscape painting. Firstly, the four artists in Yuan Dynasty landscape painting is further inheritance and development about literati paintings thought which is heavy performance, poetry, verve and light similar,imitation.It's Jane light quaint. The four artists in Yuan Dynasty express their morale and YiQi creatively and freely. Secondly, the four artists in Yuan Dynasty bravely draw by the pencraft, method of ink, line about calligraphy. This not only make painting modelling more succinct and give more performance value and meaning but also highlight the landscape painting esthetic ethnic fearture. Thirdly, the four artists in Yuan Dynasty consciously inscribe poem and use seal in the picture to explain the painting and express their emotion. This not only promote prefect of the national form about poem, calligrahphy, drawing and seal but also greatly develop and deepen the drawing art expression connotation and realm. Fourthly, they have interlinked times customs, at the same time, they also have their personality in the artistic conception. For example, Huang Gongwang is yimaixiaosan, Ni Zan is huangshujieyi, Wu Zhen is chenyuhuazi, Wang Meng is cangmangmaomi.The third chapter introduces art value and influence of the artists in Yuan Dynasty. I will discuss the inheritance and innovation, artistic value, historical role and extensive and far-reaching influence on the Ming and Qing Dynasty.
