Although historians recognized that Buddhism plays the important role in the Six Dynasties(Wu,Dong Jin,Song,Qi,Liang,Chen),they lacked a deep understanding and comprehension on the position in Jiangxi's Buddhism of the Six Dynasties. The Six Dynasties when ancient China filled of endless war and miserable people, but it brought a relatively stable environment which Buddhism could come to and develop in Jiang Xi. This article based on Jiangxi Buddhism's situation of the Six Dynasties, then researched into Jiangxi Buddhism of the Six Dynasties's status in the whole country and much influence which couldn't be overlooked on local community.Jiang Xi was located between Yangtze River, Jing Zhou and Yang Zhou, and it brought the convenience of Buddhism into Jiang Xi. The hierarch and other countries'monk beside Jiang Xi gradually came into Jiang Xi. The dominators through the ages thought much of Jiang Xi's strategic status. The religion believers became more and more. With these reasons, Buddhism began to expand and flourished in Jiang Xi, the most typical example was to create a southern Buddhism Centre—Lushan Mountain.The first part of this paper discussed the development of Jiangxi Buddhism of Six Dynasties. The second part discussed the reasons for the development of Jiangxi Buddhism, which included of natural geography and social environment factors, human factors, the rulers promoting and protecting factors, people's belief and other factors. The third part discussed the influences of Jiangxi Buddhism.The paper used dialectical materialism, sociology, cultural anthropology, folklore and other related theory in this paper, mainly used the historical research statistical methods to discuss Jiang Xi Buddhism of six Dynasties and related issues.
