My Name is Red is one of the key works of Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk, it's introduced into China in 2003. When Orhan Pamuk won the Nobel Prize of literature in 2006, his works was translated into more than 50 languages, many Chinese was fascinated by it then. It is one of the outstanding representative of contemporary fiction, is the collection of love ,suspense, and philosophy.It has bizarre plot twists, and the unique superb narrative skills, especially the hidden subject of cultural in it.The bizarre plot twists and the unique narrative skills like a coat of the hidden cultural theme,giving readers a reading feast.When read it,the reader can hear many voices from different things,even the natural plants and animals could think independently and tell the reader what they saw and seen.Each narrator was also the character of the story,all readers was enticed into a trap by the multiplicity kinds of narrative voice, couldn't make the choice and even didn't know who was credible.The whole reading was hearing different voices and discussed with own thoughts.The unreliable narrator is the highest narrative technique in My Name is Red, it made the work be different from other works,and sublimated the hidden cultural connotation.For understanding the hidden subject of the work,the reader has to read it more deeply. In My name is red,the unreliable narrators had a series of complex features,mainly shown in three aspects: the multiplicity of narrator,the Defamiliarization of narrator and the dialogue of narrator.Every narrator is also the character of the story,and it may be the person or the animal and the plant,different narrator spoke the different stories,just like the "Dialogism" of Bakhtin in a sense.The unreliable narrator of My Name is Red not only made the narrative techniques improved,and is also the needs of the subject of the work.The multiple narrator expresses the mixed cultural identity of the Turks.When Pamuk is asked why write this book,he answered that he want to pay the respect to picture of the dead in turkey history,reader can obviously feel it with the strange narrator; and the dialogue of narrator is the final writing purpose,that is an ideal that different cultural can be developed together.In short,the unreliable narrator in My Name is Red is the maturity of the narrative techniques in Pamuk's works,is also reflecting that Pamuk really care about the cultural developent of the East and West.
