Translation Of Chinese And Korean Television News

As a brand new media, TV has become an important part of our daily life. TV news, as a crucial part of TV programs, has been playing an important part in information dissemination. TV news translation is very important because it links the people who speak different languages. People share information and do emotional exchange on it. Meanwhile the TV news translation gives a direct influence to different culture and their languages. The researches of domestic TV news translation now are mostly on English-Chinese translation. In this paper, the author gives a systematic study on the Chinese-Korean TV news translation. The paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is about the aim, the significance, the method, the theory, the scope of the research as well as the corpora source. The author also reviews the research and results on TV news translation, Chinese-Korean translation and news linguistic by the many scholars in recent years.In chapter two, the author introduces the definition and the characteristics of TV news, as well as the standards, the principle and the methods of TV news translation. TV news are special because of its news value and stylistic features. The translators have to fully consider the media characteristics and the language characteristics in different levels, so that they could choose the proper translating method. The two main method of TV news translation are literal translation and free translation.Chapter three discussed the translation of TV News headlines and the leading sentences due to their importance roles in the whole News. The authors analyzed the characteristics of TV News headlines and leading sentences, classified and provided the translation skills and proposed different ways of translation with different category.In chapter four, the author studies the translation of TV news vocabulary and sentences. This paper studies the particularity of them. The vocabulary translation includes time noun translation, quantifiers translation, loan words translation, new vocabulary translation, abbreviation translation. The sentences translation includes "NP+VP" structure translation, quotation translation, elliptical sentences translation, passive sentences elliptical sentence translation, long sentences translation and dual sentence translation.Finally, the author gives a summary of this paper and the flaw of it.
