Career maturity is an important evaluation of individual career development level. College students are at the exploratory stage of their career development, they need to make their own career development planning and decision. In order to achieve career goals, they should make various aspects of preparation. Occupational psychologist Super (1953) pointed out that the individual factors, including the individual's attitudes, personality traits and intrinsic interest will have an impact on career exploration. In this study, individual's two interior features which affect the state of career maturity are investigated: the ability of meta-mood and the state of self-identity.This study applied cluster sampling method, and utilized the Trait Meta-Mood Scale, the Extend Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status-2, and Career Maturity Revised Questionnaire to investigate 623 college students. The results mainly indicate that:1 The modification of structural equation model making the reliability and validity of career maturity questionnaire more perfect, so it can be used to inquire into the Chinese mainland college students'career maturity.2 The entire career maturity level of college students is not good enough. There are significant grade differences in career choice and career cognitive dimensions; Employ attitude, self-awareness and personal adjustment dimensions have significant sex differences; Information applications, professional attitude dimensions have significant professional differences; In information applications, career choices, self awareness, professional knowledge dimension, students serving as student leaders have significantly higher scores than the students who did not serve as student leaders; Students attending community have significantly higher scores than the students who did not in information application dimension; Students coming from different places have significantly differences in information application and professional attitude dimensions.3 There are significant sex differences in emotional attention, emotional recovery dimensions; The grade difference was not significant in any dimension of meta-emotion; There were significant major differences in the emotional attention dimension; Students come from different places have significant differences in emotions identify dimensions.4 Overall, students identity status is not uniformly distributed, the largest number of students are in the moratoriums status, accounting for 44.5%, diffusion status, achievement status and foreclosures status are followed by; the scores of diffusion status and achievement status have significantly grade differences; there are significant gender differences in foreclosure status; there is no significant difference between the students who come from different places. 5 The professional maturity, Meta mood and self-identity for pair wise correlation analysis showed that: emotional attention has significantly negatively correlation with diffusion status and foreclosure status, has a significant positive correlation with moratoriums status and achievement status; emotional identification is negatively correlated with diffusion status , foreclosure status moratoriums status and positively correlated with achievement status; emotional recovery is significantly negatively correlated with diffusion status, foreclosure status and positively correlated with achievement status; meta mood has a positive correlation with every dimensions of professional maturity; diffusion status, foreclosure status and is negatively related to each dimension of career maturity; moratoriums status is negatively correlated with career choice, professional attitude, professional knowledge, but positively correlated with information applications; achievement status has a positive correlation with information applications, career choices , self-awareness, career awareness, personal adjustment.6 Through structural equation modeling analysis, emotional attention can be negative predicted to foreclosures status, positive predictive moratoriums status; emotional identify is negative predictive to diffusion status, moratoriums status, and is positive predictive achievement status; emotional attention can negatively predict career choice, self-awareness, positive predictive professional attitude, personal adjustment; emotional identify is positive predictive to information applications, career choices, self awareness, career awareness; emotional recovery is positively predict to all dimensions of career maturity; diffusion status can be negative predict to information application, career choice, be positive predictive to personal adjustment; foreclosures status is negatively predicted to information applications, professional attitude, self awareness, personal adjustment; moratoriums status is negatively predicted career choice, self-awareness, career awareness; achievement status is positively predicted to all the dimensions of career maturity;7 Self-identity plays a not fully medium in the meta-mood impacting on the career maturity... |
