Since the 1980s, mental health education in China has carried out nearly three decades, but mental health education is mainly located on prevention and treatment and aiming at solving the problem of minority students. It ignores the Psychological needs of development of most students, so this is a challenge for mental health education. It explains mental health education at the new aspect, it is new trend to pack up all kinds of mental health education and then form the new mode of mental health education based on the theory of positive psychology, which will influence exploration of the application of positive psychology and improvement of mental health education.Based on this background, the author attempts to apply the idea of positive psychology into mental health education in primary schools, analyzes how to put it into practice, discusses the inadequacies in practice and makes recommendations. This article is divided into four parts, the first part summed up the situation and international research in positive psychology and the influence of mental health education, then described the positive psychology and mental health education definition. The second part describes the theoretical basis of this study, positive psychology and multiple intelligence theory. The third part, based on the practical experience, the author analyzed the influence that positive psychology has on mental health education, including the mental health education objectives, content, approaches, the environment and teaching staff. The fourth part analyzed the deficiency during positive psychology putting into mental health education, and gave some improvement suggestion.
