Cultural and linguistic teaching is so closely integrated in the teaching of language that the importance of the former cannot be taken lightly. Since Zhang Zhanyi categorized cultural teaching in the teaching of Chinese as a second language into "Knowledge culture" and "Communication culture", "Communication culture", which has a direct influence on real life communication, has become an important and difficult teaching point. The study of communication culture found in current textbooks can further our understanding on the extent of cultural teaching in teaching Chinese as a second language.Using two sets of Chinese textbook and Oral textbook in the "Fazhan Hanyu" series textbooks as examples, based on the definition given and categorization made by pervious researchers of communication culture, this paper analyzes, categorizes and gives a full narrative of all the communication culture found in these textbooks. Besides, the communication culture found will also be studied under series textbooks compiling characteristics to see the degree of integration among the two, hence, pointing out its strengths and weaknesses. Five adaption suggestions will then be given, they are increasing the proportion of communication culture, choosing more pragmatic communication culture, standardizing the using of communication culture, rationalizing the distribution of various communication cultures and enriching ways of introducing the communication culture.
