The Study Of The Hand-getting Monosyllabic Verbs In Modern Chinese

In this paper,hand-getting monosyllabic verbs are the research object.On the sub-categories,the study discusses the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs from their syntactic distribution,semantic features and pragmatic functions.Besides the preface and conclusion,the paper consists of four chapters.In the preface,the essay introduces the main background,the method and the theroretical and practical significances of the study on the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs in modern Chinese.The first chapter mainly reviews the research and the work on the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs. At the same time,it points out briefly the limit.The second chapter mainly discusses the syntactic features of the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs.First,it investigates the using frequency of hand-getting monosyllabic verbs and finds that the frequency of "拿" is the highest and "拾" is the lowest.Second,it studies the syntactic distribution and finds that most of the verbs tend to be the predicates,and their objects and complements are diversification.Third,it analyzes their sentence structure and find that main sentence structure of the verbs is S-P-O.The third chapter is about the semantic features of the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs.With the idea of "Virtue of form was established areas,collection areas of interest constitutes a system",it finishes in the corpus analysis,and results in the common sentence of the verbs. Above the discussion,it comes to the common semantic category of the hand-getting monosyllabic verbs.In order to extract the verbs’semantic distinction,it analysis each verb’s semantic features.The forth chapter is about the pragmatic function of the verbs including classification,rhetoric and style.Corpus-based statistics shows that the verbs have the disproportion in style and category.Finally,the verbs can be flexibly used as metaphor,personification and metonymy.The last part summarizes research results and demerits of this dessertation.
