The Humanistic Perspective

As one of the most important parts of news reporting, the breaking news is always broadcasted to the public through the lens of press-photographers'. By the reality that it usually involves accidents, death, disasters, war and violence, caring the people suffering in events and understanding their feeling should be one important profession of the press-photographers', so is the spirit of humanist.The first part of the thesis is the background, stating the press-photographers'professional ethics, capabilities, the social responsibility and the occupational norms. By this readers may understand the basic required occupational qualities of being a practitioner in the field of photojournalism. The second part is the further discussion on the essential meaning of news broadcasting. By exampling the absence of humanistic caring in the reality, the requirements for news medias was specifically presented. In the last part, the author presented some cases of breaking news photo reporting that he experienced during the internship at Southern Metropolis Daily, as well as similar cases done by some Chinese mainstream medias. By analyzing these cases, how to apply the theoretical knowledge from college, how to deal with the kinds of spot situation and how to capture the humane moments have been discussed to conclude the thesis's points.
