The Study On Components Of Deductive Meanings

Based on the meaning of reference, this paper analyses the position distribution, semantic relationship and pragmatic functions of components of deductive meaning according to synchronic level, and investigates the evolution path and the reason of it in diachronic level.The first chapter is the introduction, which includes the research purposes and significance, research objects, research methods, and the current situation of the predecessors'research. Moreover, it briefly introduces the explanation of the resources in corpus, which are used in this paper.Chapter two mainly investigates the position and the distribution features of the components of deductive meaning. At first, we investigate the distributed situation of the components of deductive meaning, then analyses the other components, which co-occurs with it.Chapter three analyses the components of deductive meaning on the basis of semantics. Firstly, we investigate the semantics of themselves, then compares and analyses the differences among the members which belonged to the same class. Secondly, we analyses the deep semantic relationship between antecedent and consequent terms of components of deductive meaning.In Chapter four, we inspect the components of deductive meaning in the view of pragmatic functions, besides the function of textual cohesion, it also has the functions of expressing information focus, expressing the communicative purpose, undertaking turns and acting as a discourse marker; then we investigate the distribution of the three conceptual domains of deductive meaning components? at last, we make a statistical analysis about the stylistic distribution of deductive meaning components.In Chapter five, we study the evolution process of components of deductive meaning in the view of diachronic level. We make a description about the diachronic evolution process of deductive meaning components in diachronic aspect, making a corresponding explanation for the motivation and mechanism of it, that is, semantic suitability, influences caused by syntactic position, the function of re-analysis and the limitation of subjectivisation mechanism.In concluding part, we summarize the content of the whole article, and point out the drawbacks in it.
