In recent over two decades, Pixar has created many miracles one by one. They break the limitations of traditional mainstream animation with innovations. High technologies are used by them to make their dreams into reality. They have become a pioneer of a new era's animation works not only in content but also in technology. People are full of curiosity and doubt about this new company. Undoubtedly Pixar is leading global animations to a new high level although there are a lot of sneering and ironical invoices during its brand building.Disney successfully purchased Pixar in 2006.However,two companies have different corporation cultures and creation styles. Objectively speaking, Pixar is a branch company of Disney with its own independent operational method, however. This thesis is based on Pixar company and analyses in detail the reason why Pixar achieves so great success in so short time from artistic and commercial aspects on the basis of Pixar company. At first, Pixar's brand development course is reviewed and its theory base is built. Then, Pixar brand building tactic is analyzed from artistic, cultural and commercial areas. This is followed by an analysis of Pixar's attempts and explores in animation industry. A discussion about problems we should care and experience we can learn from the perspectives of content and operation for China's animation development in future.
