An Image Of Kashgar On The Modern And Contemporary Uyghur Literature

Urbanization is an important cultural phenomenon in social history, this phenomenon has also played very deep influence upon literature. In the process of literary history, City Literature, which has always regarded of the deepening of realistic literature, was results of the phenomenon, too. Nowadays City Literature has already become independent literary phenomenon, meanwhile there has also published some works to which mainly related this new phenomenon. As we knows, first and foremost city literature is refers to the City Images, which is the basic feeling of an Ethnic group towards to a city. In Uyghur literature history, mainly in contemporary poetic forms, there has been published so many work which was basically concerning to city life. Among Uyghur cities, Kashgar is most important city, in the eyes of Uyghur people; Kashgar symbolizes Uyghur culture, especially at the period of cultural pluralism. This is the main reason why there had been written so beautiful poems in Uyghur literature dedicated to Kashgar, however, this subject has so far not been our attention. This paper is mainly focuses on the works (especially poetry) of which was created at modern and contemporary Uygur Literature, in order to attain our goal, the results of the thesis as follows:In Prologue the author mainly introduces the connection of "literature" and "city" and the main features of "City Literature". Afterwards on the basis of "City Literature", this part also concerns the necessity of research for Uyghur City Literature, and introduces the purpose, significance and main methods of this paper.The first chapter introduces briefly the status of Kashgar in Uyghur Culture mainly from historical and cultural perspective.The second chapter is most important part of this paper. From a historical perspective, that part mainly focuses on to explore the Kashgar Image in the Uygur literature.The third chapter is also belongs to central part of this paper. That part discusses contends and form characteristics of some representative poems, all of them reflects the city image of Kashgar, which was mainly created on modern and contemporary Uygur literature.In the concluding section, briefly discusses the city image of Kashgar on the process of diversification and, make a conclusion to all paper.
