Accessibility to transport greatly determine the extent of a regional economic development,The agricultural and mineral resources of an area would need a more convenient transportation level.As a landlocked province,the natural traffic conditions is lagging,so the dependence for modern transport will be higher in Shanxi. Early 20th century,China has been in social unrest, a state of warlordism,Shanxi also failed to separate from this situation. At that time Yan Xishan has sole power to military and political in Shanxi province,in order to maintain vested interests and consolidate the rule.He vigorously promote the economic and transportation construction.Not only to formulate the "Outline of the province's roads construction",but also formulated the "Decade of Shanxi Provincial Administration Building Plan" in 1932 to provide guidance for the transportation and economic development of Shanxi.In the full support of Yan Xishan,until the 1937 Sino-Japanese War broke out,traffic network of Shanxi has basically formed.This traffic network develop on the basis of late Qing Dynasty roads network,has motor road,railway as a framework,public road,inland water transport and modern telecommunications as a supplement.There are many problems in this network,because of the political and economic conditions.But this modern traffic network still has been largely achieved the initial target.External establish communication links with other provinces,internal contact the city of this province. On one hand this modern traffic network facilitate the common people's daily travel,on the other hand this network provide essential conditions for economic development of surrounding areas.Wish to maximize, most real restore the transportation network of that time,by use historical data on transportation construction in Shanxi.At the same time,wish to analysis the sale condition of agricultural and mineral resources along the network.Through this analysis, I want to find the relationship between the modern traffic network and the economic development.Finally,the chart will be used to displaye the conclusion in an intuitive way.Further to fill this area blank about early 20th century traffic role in promoting economic of Shanxi.
