Danica Seleskovitch and M.Lederer proposed Interpretive theory in the late1960 s on the basis of interdisciplinary research and their abundant interpreting experience and teaching experience. The interpretive theory has now become the most authoritative theory in the area of interpretation study in international community.According to the interpretive theory proposed by the Paris School, interpretation is a communicative activity, and the achievement of the communicative purpose depends on the fact that the sense of the source language is successfully conveyed to the audience.Meanwhile,it is of great significance for interpreters to utilize their cognitive complement in the process of interpreting. The Triangular Model was further proposed by the Paris School, who believed that there was an indispensable stage between stages of comprehension and re-expression,namely,de-verbalization.Through de-verbalization,effective information was distinguished and reformulated before being rendered into the target language. In recent years, with the growth of Chinese economy and politic significance in the international community, documentary series with the purpose of publicizing Chinese historic and cultural civilization have received increasing popularity among audience at home and abroad.President Xi Jinping’s initiative of “Belt and Road” has now been creating an increasing number of opportunities for corporation and exchange between China and countries along the Silk Road.As the window for China and Chinese civilization to be better appreciated by the world, these documentaries are playing an increasingly crucial role.Meanwhile,China’s closer connecting with the outside world calls for a even higher standard for linguistic services including interpretation, hence, interpretation study is of self-evident significance in enforcing the linguistic connectivity.Guided by interpretive theory, this report mainly analyzes the adoption of strategies of reorganizing the information at levels of word, sentence and the discourse in documentary interpreting process. And it also discusses and gives suggestions for skills in note-taking by means of de-verbalization.Basing on actualinterpreting practice and case studies,it aims to provide some positive reference for other student interpreters. |
