The Relationship Between Children's Temperament And Parents Coping Styles

Early education is very important to develop children's potential,and parents are pivotal roles in the child's potential developed. Researches reciprocal influence that infant temperament trait to parents' coping styles, may afford evidence for improving the parents' educational and breeding level as well as parenting validity, create better family education environment, thus it may guide parents progress better early education, in order to promote infants'healthy development.In this paper, on the basis of domestic and foreign literature review, through open ended questionnaire survey, obtained the parents' coping styles primary questionnaire survey, then through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, finally forming formal questionnaire.Taking the age of 3-6 infant and their parents as objects of study in Shan'xi Province, through the age of 3-7 years old children temperament questionnaire and the self-designed survey questionnaire of parents' coping styles to investigate infant's temperamental and their parents' coping styles and mutual relation between them. The questionnaire of parents' coping styles include six dimensions, they are communication, self reproach, justification, succorance, berate and isolation, and the questionnaire include 28 item; and the questionnaire of 3-7 years old children temperament was designed by Group NYLS under the leadership of American psychologist named Thomas and Chess inl977,the questionnaire is divided into nine dimensions,they are activity level, phobotaxis, rhythmicity, response intensity, adaptability, emotional nature, insistence, attention dispersion and reaction threshold, and the questionnaire include 72 item, and some conclusions are:1.The contents of self-made parents coping styles questionnaire are more reasonable, dimension is anastomotic to idea dimension, and the sample is also representativeness. The questionnaire including communication, self reproach, justification, succorance, berate and isolation, the reliability and the structural validity are very good, It can be used as a measuring tool to measure coping style of the infants' parents.2. Look from demography, parents coping styles in preschool gender, grade, residence, parents career, degree and family economic level in different ways. Explain child gender, grade, residence, parents'career, degree and family economic level has an impact on the way for parents to answer.3. Based on the analysis of the way to deal with the scale parents found that, in the way to deal with the parents all dimensions score, communication dimension scores highest, rationalization dimension scores minimum; Parents in reprimanded, ask for help, isolating dimensions of parents coping styles, father significant difference than mother more easily, and my mother scolded children are more likely to use for help and the isolation of parents coping styles.4. Temperament affect parents coping styles. In the dimension of communication, the parents of different temperament are significant different in universe, and the parents of easy type temperament of children are significant different that difficult type and central type, in addition, except the dimension of insistence, all dimensions in temperament are significant correlation to coping.
