The term "fairy tale" covers the traditional literary fairy tale and contemporary audiovisual fairy tale. In this article, the author will reread this generalized art style from a new perspective by using western ecological thought resources and criticism methods. The Primary purpose is to study and interpret classic fairy tales by ecological criticism methods, followed by exploring the ecological implications contained in fairy tales, exploring and developing their humane connotations. The specific method of exploring is to summarize the ecological tendency of the fairy tale theme on the basis of work analysis. The themes include creature world from the perspective of "animism" and natural beauty which is close to the nature and to be praised; growth with adventure in the nature; the "homecoming" complex and defending their homes -- animals struggle, return to their homes, resist invasion and plunder, and defend the homeland; and redemption of the nature -- enter the "Neverland " and redeem the adult world and the city life, and people introspect and save themselves in ecology crisis. Then the author will dig fairy tale's intimate connections between artistic essence and ecological thought, mainly from primitive thinking, imagination, romanticism, game spirit, utopia spirit and other aspects. At last, the author will refer to the western Ecological ethics and Ecological ontological aesthetics, and summarize the most important enlightenments the fairy tales show to the contemporary ecological problems -- new ethical perspectives and dreams of poetic living in homes, and treatment function of childlike innocence, childhood spirit and poetic realm manifested by fairy tales to contemporary people's mental symptoms.
