The Research On The Quanfu Troupe

The Quanfu troupe is a famous professional Kunqu Opera troupe in Late Qing Dynasty. This troupe and other three troupes were the most famous troupe in Suzhou, include the Hongfu troupe, the Dazhang troupe and the Daya troupe. The Quanfu troupe was established during the reign of Dao Guang, and dispersed in the Republic of China. It went through about one hundred years, and had certain influence on people. Large numbers of excellent actors appeared from the troupe, they made great contributions to the development of Kunqu Opera. In the past, there is no systematic and comprehensive study about the Quanfu troupe. This article is based on the history of Quanfu troupe, then do a comprehensive research on the troupe, include the system of organize and administer, the content of performance and the actors, finally, do a comment on the meanings and states of the troupe. The article is divided into four chapters. The first chapter explained the perform history of the Quanfu troupe and the system of organize and administer in detail; The second chapter introduced the actors of the troupe, and give emphasis to the style of perform about some important actors; The third article introduced the programs of the troupe, then summarized the features of their performance by contrast to the programs during the reign of Qian Long and Jia Qing; The last chapter summarized the status and meanings during the modern times, and their efforts to develop Kunqu opera.
