Since Relevance Theory comes into being, it has drawn widespread attention from the scholars both at home and abroad which has provided the original opinion regarding the human communication and the cognition. This thesis mainly and systematically expounds the theory construction and the operational mechanism of the relevance theory and explores its philosophical values from the perspective of the philosophy of language. The academically important issue is that from the analysis of language to the construction of human mind pattern, the theory penetrates into the level of human mind and attempts to probe into the secret of the construction of human mind explaining each philosophical question along the route of"language, mind and world". On the one hand, the theory discusses the human mind and cognition resorting to the unique theory and methods in the philosophy of language, thus offering a unique and valuable starting point of the research on the human mind. On the other hand, owing to the strong connection between the relevance and the congnition inherited in the human mind, the theory could make a clearer and broader explanation to each kind of difficult issue of the philosophy of language. With a better interpretation of Relevance Theory, in my opinion, it is a transformation of Code's philosophy; moreover, it is a transformation in a wider sense which is about the question of the possibility of the human knowledge. We may say that Relevance theory has manifested the developmental process of the philosophy of language, namely the transformation from the philosophy of language to the post- philosophy of language. That is to say, the construction of Relevance Theory has inherited the main ideas of analytical philosophy. And in relevance theory, we can also see the effect of the the modern philosophy of language. In this sense, it is an amalgamation of the analytical philosophy and the philosophy of modern European continent.
