The Thai Students Commonly Confusable Preposition Acquisition

From many decades past, Chinese function words bring about problems for Chinese teachers, preposition as a kind of function word also leads a big problem in Chinese teaching. In the aspect of language, Chinese preposition has no lexical meaning itself, but grammatical meaning. Students can only get insight the preposition through situation, then use it appropriately in the way syntax should be. In term of semantic feature, preposition is always overlapping, which make foreign student hard to distinguish and understand. Moreover, foreign students, Thai students also, are influenced by mother tongue language unavoidably.Actually, what kind of problem that is Thai students face in their compound preposition study? Which processes and strategies should be utilized and what the result of the study should be?To analyze the compound preposition of Thai student, this research has three main aspects to analyze and discuss"跟(gen)","给(gei)","对(dui)","向(xiang)"as the following:First, this part mainly discuss the semantic overlapping of Chinese compound propositions"跟(gen)","给(gei)","对(dui)","向(xiang)"then categorize them. Moreover, this research compare between Chinese and Thai compound proposition.Second, to collect and analyze the Thai students'compound preposition study questionnaire {跟(gen)","给(gei)","对(dui)","向(xiang)} to find the result.Third, to analyze the situation and misunderstanding of compound preposition study of Thai student, the comparison study focus on level of difficulty and study environment to analyze the relevant factors, then propose the effective way to study compound preposition for Thai students.
