Predicate complement structure is an important grammar in the Chinese syntax. Since its discovery, it has deserved all the concern of the whole academia. The scholars domestic and overseas have done in-depth researches in its creation, development, classification, composition and significance, with many books and thematic researches published. Many ancient and modern monographs are used to study and analyze the process of its development, characteristics and the laws. The history and dating studies have obtained initial results. This paper is based on the book Ye Sou Pu Yan, discussing the features and developing trends of this grammar during the transition period from the modern times to the contemporary. The analysis is concerning about three planes——Complement syntactic, semantic and pragmatic and by the description and comparison relying on exhaustive statistical data, I have found the features and functions of the structure at that time; Compared synchronically with the "Hong Long Meng" and also with the Shui Hu Zhuan, Xing Shi Yin Yuan Zhuan diachronic comparison, this paper highlights its characteristics and sums up its relevant s trends and patterns. This thesis introduces a dichotomy approach to put the Predicate complement structure into two different types:one in adhesion and one in combination. Respectively, according to the composition, I take my analysis in three aspects such as syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis. Finally the entire structure in the book Ye Sou Pu Yan is divided into: Verb-fix type, Verb-trend type, V + must + (O), V + must + C, V + not + C, etc. There are six chapters in this paper:Chapter I: Introduction, discussing the situation of research, the purpose of this paper, the methods and the scope, describing this version Ye Sou Pu Yan and its value, and finally having an approximate classification of Predicate complement structure. Chapter II: The synaptic study of Predicate complement structure in the book Ye Sou Pu Yan, by the syntactic composition and the statistics of the syntactic presentation, I make an exhaustive description and an analytical comparison about the two different types—one in adhesion and one in combination. Chapter III: The semantic study of Predicate complement structure in the book Ye Sou Pu Yan, from the meaning of complement and the sensing aspects, I take the semantic analysis, discussing deeply the role of the components and the meaning of the structure.Chapter IV: The employing study of Predicate complement structure in the book Ye Sou Pu Yan, Analysis from the context, the emotion, the emphasis and the tone, examining the actual needs and characteristics under the social environment at that time Chapter V: The synchronic and diachronic comparison of Predicate complement structure in the book Ye Sou Pu Yan, Compared synchronically with the Hong Long Meng in the data and characteristics of complement structure, I get its specialty during the transition period from the modern times to the contemporary. Also with the Shui Hu Zhuan, Xing Shi Yin Yuan Zhuan diachronic comparison, I find some patterns and trends of its development.Chapter VI: summary, it mainly has a summary of the Predicate complement structure of the book Ye Sou Pu Yan.
