To compensate for the lack of previous studies and lay the foundation for posterity, XianBei costumes in Northern Wei Dynasty will be studied Eespecially. Xianbei not have their own character, so there is few record of Xianbei costumes in the history document. Main material of study of Xianbei costumes comes from burial and buddhist statues. As a result,lots of archaeological data will be collectd. On the basis of a large number of archaeological data of the Northern Wei Dynasty, valid data which can reflect the clothing will be filtered.Thirdly, different character identities will be Classificated and studied.Forthly, research the changes between two period.
