Task-based Language Teaching approach is a kind of language teaching mode, which came up in the 1980s and was established on the basis of studying foreign language learning and teaching. It proposes to use target language to complete a successful communication and emphasizes studying in doing while avoids spoon-feeding education. At present, many experts in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language have studied the task-based teaching mode, among which the study on task-based teaching in primary comprehensive class is reflected by studying learning strategies, teaching methodologies or the teaching target.Based on the writer's own teaching experience, this paper intends to study the feasibility and effectiveness of 4A teaching model of task-based teaching method used in primary comprehensive Chinese class and pursue a proper teaching model for small primary class of medium teaching institutions, which can offer an effective way to the teachers and increase the learning effectiveness and comprehensive abilities of the students.The data collection in this paper is through empirical research, questionnaires, and interviews and so on. On this basis, this paper intends to construct 4A teaching model based on task-based teaching method and probes the practice of this model in small primary comprehensive class by teaching practice. The whole class and teaching modules are designed by taking the text book "Boya Chinese" as example. In the design, the knowledge and skills, cultural awareness and emotional attitude are also taken into consideration.The innovation of this paper is, usually, task-based teaching method uses three-stage model proposed by Ellis:the pre-task phase, the during-task phase, the post-task phase.This paper adopts the advantages of task-based teaching method and overcomes the limits of traditional one, and constructs a 4A teaching model, namely assignment,accomplishment,application,assessment and analyze the teaching design of small primary comprehensive class under the guide of 4A model.This paper consists of the following four parts:Chapter One Introduction. This chapter mainly describes the background and significance of the topic, related research achievements, the innovative points, research methods and key points and difficulties of research.Chapter Two The Theoretical Basis of 4A Teaching Mode Based on Task. This chapter includes two parts; the first part is the basic theories of task-based teaching method. The second part introduces the connotation, basic process and theoretical basis of the 4A teaching mode.Chapter Three 4A Mode Teaching Design Based on Task. Through questionnaires and interviews, the general characteristics of learners, initial ability, learning style, motivation and expected learning aims are analyzed; meanwhile this chapter analyzes the basic situation of the selected teaching material. According to the teaching aims,contents and process, the paper chooses the form of collective lecture, group learning and various teaching methods to practice 4A teaching mode. Finally, in order to see whether the 4A teaching model has reached the desired objectives or not, the student evaluation and teacher evaluation are applied.Chapter Four Examples and Epilogue. Select a typical teaching plan of a unit to display concrete operation process under the mode of 4A teaching mode.Epilogue section will show the possible problems.4A teaching model is the combination of knowing with doing and it is also a combination of systematic knowledge. It provides a necessary condition for language practice and builds the language system in a real context. The skills of using language will be fostered and the language experience will be strengthened at the same time, which becomes the key to the language understanding and generation.Though 4A model is for the foreign language learning, the model is still in the stage of experiment and more studies on this model are still needed.
