Aesthetics Research On Edward Yang's Films

Edward Yang, one of the important directors of Taiwan films, is rational and emotional, and always shows thought patterns which are combining Chinese and Western. In the West, he is mainly affected by the Italian New Wave cinema and German film shooting style and technique of shooting. This article analyzes the theme of Yang's films, studies films in the use of specific manifestations, and the aesthetics of films.The first chapter discusses Edward Yang's films which are involved in several important themes. Criticism of disputes arising from traditional culture from the female consciousness, challenged the authority of institutions, the traditional of moral reflection.The second chapter analyzes the languages of Yang's films from the language of the cinema, composition, sound effects, open end, and independent.The third chapter analyzes the aesthetic of Yang's film from Documentary aesthetics and tragedy aesthetics.
