Giddens is a famous social theorist. His theory can be divided into three majorparts, namely dual structure theory, modernity theory and "third way" theory. Hisoverall theoretical framework and specific perspective and ideas are affected by Marx,its theory contain rich Marxist implication. The author attempts to reveal Marxistimplication in Giddens' theory, and critical inheritance relationship between Giddensand Marx.The change of contemporary western society in the politics, economy and culturerequired the analysis and judgment of western society. The disputes of the westernsociety theories forced the contemporary western theorists to reconstruct a new socialtheoretical analysis framework. Giddens' theory do not start from the subject andthe object of human society, but from the concrete practice of human society. This is akind of new social thoughts. This change provided a solid foundation to the importantpractical turn in social theory. On the view of the theory development, Giddens'theory is correspondence with Marx's thought in some content.
