According to more and more frequent communication between Myanmar and China, there is increasing number of Myanmar people leaning Chinese. Teach and spread Chinese in Myanmar has become an important part of Chinese international spread. As we know, language is the vehicle and container of cultural information. Culture is the fundamental element of language. Moreover, language is both a part of culture and a demonstrative form of culture. Language and culture are inseparable. At the same time, the vocabulary is the most basic elements of language and also can reflect a nation's cultural background knowledge of the language system, especially is cultural words. Learners do not understand the cultural background knowledge of the target language, thus, the communication conflicts in intercultural communication often occur. Learning the cultural words is especially important in the basic stages of learning as the purposes of increasing our vocabulary and improving communicative competence.Now, more and more Chinese teachers in Myanmar have noticed the influence of the cultural background knowledge on language teaching. They think the language and culture teaching must combine and teachers start from the initial stage should focus on the teaching of the cultural words in Chinese as a foreign language teaching. The study simple of this paper is the "Han Yu" basic Chinese textbook series that is widely used in Myanmar Chinese as second language. In this paper, comparative and analysis of Myanmar-Chinese cultural words as the starting point, explore and study the teaching strategies of cultural words specifically for Myanmar basic Chinese learners. And then, difficulties in teaching Chinese cultural words as a foreign language in Myanmar were discussed according to the cultural connotation, import method and points to be careful. I hope this thesis could play an instructive practice and spread of Chinese language teaching in Myanmar. This paper is divided into three aspects.Part1:Introduction. This chapter describes the definition of culture, cultural words and the classification of cultural words from the previous research.Part2:Analyze the cultural words in the Chinese, textbook used in Myanmar. This chapter briefly describes the sample material-"Han Yu" series, and find out the cultural words in the textbook. Furthermore, the definition of the cultural words in this research were defined and then the cultural words were divided into four main categories:1, Burmese-Chinese cultural words having the same or similar concept and connotative meaning;2, Burmese-Chinese cultural words with the same concept meaning but different connotative meaning;3, Burmese-Chinese cultural words with the same concept meaning, Myanmar has the connotation meaning while Chinese doesn't;4, Burmese-Chinese words with same concept meaning, Chinese has the connotation meaning while 'Myanmar doesn't.Part3:Analysis of key and difficult. This chapter mainly introduces the main points in teaching and difficulties in learning Chinese found by the author during the internship period. And then, according to the characteristics of Myanmar students, measures and recommendations proposed in the teaching of the cultural words.
