Sense of belonging is the basic need of people's social life. But social rejection makes human feeling the shortage of belonging. Many researches about social rejection found out that social rejection reduce people's aggressive behaviors which make them lonelier. But the basic motivation theory suggested that when people have been deprived of their need, they will show more eager to find it. In recent years, few researches began to focus on the possibility of social rejection reduce prosocial behavior and when it came. Multimotive model of social rejection suggested that expectations of relational repair, value of the relationship, possibility of alternatives and perceived costs of the rejection will affect the relationship-promoting responses. All of the four factors are relevant with the intimacy of the relationship. Attachment system will activate when people feel pressure or in the threaten situation. It will give people great power to live. And different styles of attachment always affect people's feeling of intimacy and deal with the relationship between intimates. So this study was trying to figure out people's relationship reconstruction behavior to the rejecter after the rejection happened and how did intimacy and attachment affect the reconstruction.This study consist two experiments which used different methods to create social rejection and proof the relationship of reconstruction tendency, reconstruction behavior, intimacy of relationship and attachment. The main conclusion:(1) Writing about experience social rejection reduced strong negative emotion, which consisted of hostile, anger and uneasy. Rejection by partners made participants feeling strong fear, hostile and irritation.(2) Hostile emotion show significant difference in the high, median and low intimacy group. The median intimacy group affected the lowest hostile and anger emotion.(3) Whenever in writing rejection experience or rejected by partner, relationship intimacy had positive correlation to reconstruction tendency and reconstruction behavior.(4) Attachment avoidance was the moderator between relationship intimacy and reconstruction tendency. Low avoidance of attachment people's reconstruction tendencies were significantly higher than the high group's when the relationship intimacy between the rejecter and rejected was in low and high degree. However, in the median close degree, the reconstruction tendency didn't have significant difference.(5) Attachment anxiety and relationship intimacy had interaction affection to relationship reconstruction behavior. Whenever the close degree between the rejecter and rejected, high anxiety of attachment people all presented high level of relationship reconstruction behaviors; low anxiety of attachment people presented more reconstruction behaviors with the increase of the intimacy.
