James Stream Of Consciousness Thinking Philosophical Interpretations

This article attempts to state the stream of consciousness of James from the philosophical point of view, aiming to prove that conscious stream has a great influence on James'late Radical empiricism and Pragmatism. Not only does the stream of consciousness eradicate traditional western Psychological elements', but also opens up a new field for the future philosophy. Besides, from the philosophical point of view, it states the feature, meaning and purpose of the stream of consciousness.The article is divided into three parts. First, it briefly states the background and theoretical sources of stream of consciousness. Second, it focuses on the definitions of stream of consciousness, theory of mind-body relationship, Psychological elements' and the destination of the stream of consciousness. Third, it shows the approval as well as the defect of stream of consciousness. The study of James'stream of consciousness can help us take a further step of the investigation and research of the entire Philosophy of James.
