An Investigation Of HSK Test-taking Situation In Bishkek Kyrgyzstan

HSK test as the National Chinese Proficiency Test for the international societyhas been conducted for more than a decade. Under the careful research by relevantdepartments and professionals, it has developed into a relatively complete system.With the further development of China's opening up, Chinese learners around thenumber rapidly, as the national examination that has a major impact at home andabroad, there are many issues worthy of further research.Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, is the center of its country's politic, economy,culture and science. Many institutions of higher learning are situated here, at about120. The popularization of Chinese is best in Kyrgyzstan too. In Bishkek, in additionto major colleges and universities which offer the Chinese compulsory or electivecourses, private language training schools have mushroomed there. In Kyrgyzstan,English, Japanese, Korean, and Turkish, languages have their own correspondinglanguage proficiency tests similar to HSK. How about the situation of HSK test inKyrgyzstan? At present it is still unclear. At the same time, in the study of HSK test,the one about Central Asian countries is relatively limited, not to mention an overview.Therefore, the extent to which Chinese is popularized and the importance to HSKattach local Chinese learners need to be understood.HSK started four years ago in Kyrgyzstan, but there lacks an accurate feed-fackon it,which is a big barrier to understanding, Chinese language teaching there and toimproving the present situation. An understanding is also needed on what kind ofeffect and impact? HSK produces on local learners, the promotion of Chinese, and thegoals HSK test has fulfilled. Only with an understanding of these issues can weevaluated Chinese teaching there in light of each country and different situations, andsolve those problem in time. This knowledge will be a reference for Chinese teachingand promotion in Kyrgyzstan in future.This study investigates Chinese teaching and promotion in some colleges and universities in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. By learning about the impact HSK produces onthe efficacy of Chinese education, analyzing HSK test taking in the country and thesources of the students, this thesis analyzes if the goals aims at have been fulfilledfrom the aspects of teacher and student, how well Chinese is popularized and howimportant Chinese is considered in this country.The investigation of HSK in Bishkek aims to promote a further development ofChinese language education in Kyrgyzstan, and, with a detailed description of thelocal conditions, to comprehensively analyze the advantages and disadvantages ofChinese education that will be able to constantly orientate Chinese language educationin Kyrgyzstan.
