A Study On Vision-guided System Design For The Public Space Based On City Image

With the development of our country, the acceleration of the progress of urbanization and globalization, the vision-guided system design for city public space is more and more significant. This paper expounds the inherent link between the vision-guided system design for city public space and the city image-designing, and emphasizes that the vision-guided system should be designed from the macroscopic view of the city image. The paper states the importance of the vision-guided system design for city public space for way-finding, city identification and communication. Through several investigations and cases, the paper discusses how to design a vision-guided system for the public space based on city image.There are four main parts in this paper. The first part introduces the research background, the current situation and the method of the research. The second part states relevant theories. There are three chapters about the concept of the city image-designing, the definition and types of the vision-guided system of city public space and the discussion of the relationship between them. The third part is about the research method and case study. This part studies the cases about the Manhattan Downtown open commercial zone and the Shangri-la ancient town called Dukezong. The fourth part is a summary of this paper and the conclusion.
