Beta Israel is a special group in Israel. They came from Ethiopia, and now nearly12 million Beta Israel has been living in Israel since the immigration wave started in1980s from Ethiopia. Ethiopia beta Israel's origin may date back to thousands yearsago when it was the king of Solomon period. Since then, they have been surviving inEthiopia which is a strange and hostile environment for them. Cruel environment didnot make them lose their Jewish attribute. They were isolated from the Jewishbrothers living in other parts of the world, but still retained their religion faith, etiquette custom and survival mode. To return to Jerusalem have been their dreams. They left home in the 1980s when Ethiopia's civil war broke out, and they had to treklong distance to Sudan border. Their living environment triggered internationalattention from Jewish community in the United States and Israel. Ultimately theoperation of Solomon and Moses helped them realize their dream. But Israel's lifewas not as good as they imagined, they had difficulty in the adoption to modern andfast‐paced Israel society because they had long been living in a backward area inAfrica. They had low educational level, single work skills, even the language problemswere obstacles to them. Israel also had not fully seen them as their compatriotsgenerally, even some other immigrant groups such as the former Soviet Union andeastern Europe immigrant groups appeared better in social status than them. Theimprovement of the social status of beta Israel is not only the problems of Israeligovernment, also it needs the effort of Beta Israel themselves, including theimprovement of cultural quality, and work ability, etc. We also must do some thinkingabout immigration policy of Israel. Israel is the world's largest country forimmigration. Finally, this paper tries to explore the impact of the Beta Israel onbilateral relations, because even now there are still many Jews in Ethiopia whoattempt to immigrant to Israel.
