The Evolution And Development Of The China Strategy Of The Obama Administration

China-US relations, as one of the most complex relations of great significance in the world, will exert, as always, profound impact on both the regional development and the global situation. As China-US relations are closely linked with the US China strategy, therefore, the latter has long been a focus among the academic circle.With the development of the international situation and the new term of the US government in 2009, the US China strategy has been experiencing changes too. Therefore, to explore the US strategic goals on China, its identification and attitude held for China behind the US China strategy comes to be the basis of the thesis.Proceeding from the changes of the US China strategy under the Obama Administration and with an eye to its future development, the author first of all, gives a brief analysis of the strategic interests and goals of the United States, as well as its implementation of the global and regional strategic goals so as to make clear the fundamental goals of the US China strategy. Next, the author offers a contrastive analysis of the US China strategies between the Bush Administration and the Obama Administration so as to gain the changes of the latter in its China strategy. The author continues to dig into the reasons behind such strategic changes. Then, she gives analysis of the future development of the US China strategy under the Obama Administration in three dimensions with the support of a survey made on the US China strategy. In the end, the author raises some points to be discussed as to the future development of the US China strategy.
