The Analysis Of The Chinese Volunteer' Social Identity

In the past several decades, China's voluntary service has achieved a great deal in the fields of youth voluntary service, community volunteer service, grass groups volunteer service and international service so on. However, there is a lot of development space for the voluntary service in China, but it confronts with the restraint factor. One of which is low volunteer's social identity. The idea of voluntary service has not been propagated to each level of society widely. The value of volunteer has not been indented. A lot of people have a unilateral reorganization and a backward idea to volunteer.This paper is intended to study the deep reasons of the trouble which volunteers face in voluntary services from corner of social identity theory. In this paper we choose generalized volunteers as the research object. We get the sample through the network investigation and the participated interview. Then we use statistical software-SPSS 17 analysis the degree of volunteer's social identity. In the course of analysis the writer proceeds from three aspects: role identity; value identity; group identity. And the writer hypothesis sex; age; education level; present vocation; political status; income per month; religious belief and so on different variables of volunteer is correlated with the degree of social identity on statistical significance. So we can understand more comprehensive about the degree of volunteer's social identity. We can conclude the realistic condition and idea of volunteer. Then put forward some suggestions about voluntary service. The government and every kind of voluntary organization could accord those suggestions promote voluntary service.
