Joining the WTO is an important symbol that China's opening up to the outside world has entered a new stage, the food trade as an important component part of China's foreign trade, marked by rapid growth and competitiveness constantly , has entered a new stage. Joining the WTO will make china's high - quality food products smoothly enter the international market through bilateral or multilateral approach ;provide opportunities for china's food industry to introduce foreign capital and advanced technology, and comprehensively improve China's food production and consumption levels ; you also can promote the access, which China's food industry develops as mark tetization , specialization and internationalization. Although joining the WTO provides many opportunities for China's trade in food , it means that China will gradually open up the market to meet more challenges. Cancellation of non - tariff barriers to food is adverse to China's trade protection ;and substantial tax reduction will make the production of domestic food face to impact of inexpensive products in the international market. In addition, after we entered the market, China's food export met with more technical barriers, and standards and rules which is relevant to food trading and food-safety, such as the Agreement on Technical Barriers, has an important influence on China's food trading. What's more, the international food trading, on the one hand, retricted by tariff concessions, and more is influenced by non - tariff measures and the standards and rules about food safety in various countries, and constrained from it. This paper expounds that studying on the rules would have what impact on Chinese food trading-rules and make recommendations, by introducing and analysing the Agreement on Animal and Plant Quarantine Measures and the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, the two rules which is closely related to Food Trading and the Food Import and Export Inspection and Quarantine, and some relevant international food trade coordination of certain food standards and the WTO Trade - related technical standards of countries.
