Warship formation is a main organization mode for the accomplishment of naval manoeuver, it has significant meaning in naval tactics. Ship formation EMC as a key standard of tactics and technology for assess formation battle efficiency has been increasingly attached importance by the navies of all in recent years. How to strengthen EMC study for warship formation so as to avoid mutual interference and ensure the battle capability under complex electromagnetic environment becomes a current hotspot problem that need to be solved urgently.Prediction and analysis research on the shortwave electromagnetic evironment (EME) and electromagnetic interference(EMI) about EMC of warship formation is performed with computational electromagnetics as well as computer simulation technology and formation theory. First of all, electromagnetic coupling between wire antennas mounted on warship formation is analyzed and simulated with FEKO based on moment of method (MoM)and combined field integral quation(CFIE) ,an algorithm improved from multilevel fast multipole (MLFMM),which can provide the technical support for predicting the shortwave EME on warship formation.Secendly, radiation field electromagnetic model of ship-borne short-wave antennas and warship formation model are carried on with combined field integral equation. In addition, superficial triangle grid is also achived by FEKO.Thirdly , in different formation, distance between ships and frequency condition,many electromagnetical parameters such as surface induced current,far-field pattern , radiation field intensity and isolation are simulated and caculated with FEKO ,in which the magnetic field integral equation and the electric field integral equation are used to calculate the hull and short-wave antennas of the warship formation respectively.Finally,essential characteristic about short-wave EME and EMI coupling for warship formation is developpd and achived in comparision of the simulated results. The research work in this papar can make effert to provide a powerful technical support for predicting and analying the shor-wave electromagnetic environment of the warship formation.
