As a common social phenomenon, corruption exists in various industries all over the world. The Bribe Payers Index showed that, published by Transparency International in 2002, the public project and construction industry ranked comfortably in the first place among the 17 bribery-prone industries, and had become the world's worst industrial area of corruption. In July 2009, China concentrated on carrying out a special governance of some prominent problems existed in the construction projects which were invested over 5 million Yuan. It worked on investigating the hidden troubles and corruption, maintaining the construction market order, enhancing the project quality, making "sunshine project" and " transparent project", and building a harmonious socialist society. Based on this background, this article closely linked to our current events and focus problems, highlighted the research on corruption prevention and treatment in the construction field.Chapter one plays the role of outlining, and summarizes the background, purpose, meaning, methods, main contents and innovative points of this research. As a theoretical basis of the third and fourth chapters, the second chapter focuses on the meaning of corruption in the construction field, and introduces the two basic theory of corruption: rent-seeking theory and the principal-agent theory. In the third chapter, taking the current situation of our country's corruption in the engineering as a cutting point, the writer makes a deep analysis of construction market's own problems by the relative two theories in chapter two, which mainly expounds the reason why corruption is prone to happen in these departments such as the public administration, construction units, supervising units, and design organizations. Some relevant and actionable measures to prevent and govern the corruption in the construction field are put forward in chapter four. The last part of this article is an empirical analysis about the current situation and problems of the anti-corruption construction in company X, which in order to perfect the anti-corruption construction.It is a systematic project to study the corruption in the construction field. Only based on the cognition of corruption cases happened in the 13years construction management experience, the writer discusses some simple thoughts about how to prevent and control such corruption phenomenon, which hopes to provide some anti-corruption references in this field.
