Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a unique international regional organization that was initiated the establishment by China, named after Chinese city, headquartered in Beijing, and in which China can play a leading role. SCO plays a decisive role in defending the interests of national security and development of China, as it's an important platform for maintaining stability & security of China's northwest border and operating relations between leading powers successfully. Since its inception in 2001, SCO has made remarkable achievements of security, economic, cultural and other fields after decade's development, formulated rules and regulation, and stepped into right track of healthy and steady development. At the same time, more and more countries want to participate in the cooperation process of SCO because of its rising international influence, and some countries have raised order to join SCO, as a result, expansion has become one of the most important issues that need to be seriously confronted and solved in the development process of SCO in future. In this paper, the pros & cons and potential problems of enlargement are focused in terms of politics, geography, law, and organization, while comparison with preliminary analysis about prospects of enlargement is offered, too. This paper may be helpful to related research.
