After World War II, with the development of African national liberation movements,which lead to the gradual rise of the tide of African socialism. As the situation of Africancountries varied and complex, African socialism is not a single kind of ideological theoryor development model, but a general designation of various socialism persued by differentAfrican countries. Tang Dayton, a scholar from China, roughly divided them into fourschools: Arab Socialism, Communalism Socialism, Democratic Socialism and AfricanScientific Socialism. This paper studies the communalism socialism ideas with typicalcharacteristics of African traditional village, and tries to reveal the deep reasons behind thehistorical phenomenon.The paper is divided into four parts, the first one is the introduction part.The second part focuses on the historical development of African socialism. AfterWorld War II, that resulted in the idea of African socialism produced by the Africannationalist leaders who were in the fight for independence and thinking of the futuredevelopment of African. Later, this idea was put forward by African leaders as a socialeconomic system, a clear development path and model,which brought about the rapid riseof African socialism and made it develop into a powerful wave in the African continent.The third part takes the Nkrumah's African Socialism in Ghana and the UjamaSocialism in Tanzania as examples, discusses the socialist theory and experiments of thetwo typical African countries in detail.Ghana is the first country gained independence onthe African continent, whose independence has opened a new chapter in African history.The Ujama Socialism with obvious features as "village socialism" and "agriculturalsocialism", is considered as a model socialist village in Africa.The fourth part of the article puts forward several opinions for the AfricanCommunalism Socialism. It mainly analyzes why Communalism Socialism generated inAfrica, what's the difference between the Communalism Socialism and the traditionalsocialism, what is the essence of socialism and its trend in future. Through above analysisit is concluded that the African village of socialism is a great explore in the history ofsocialism. It also effects the development of human society positively.
