The family is the basic organization form in society, family stability and harmony is the basic symbol of family moral civilization, is also the basic condition of social stability and prosperity. The family is the cradle of the child's growth, and the parents are the child's first teacher,they should educate the child"How to be a person"while instructing them"How to do things".The family education has special characteristics which are different from other education systems,and has special functions which other educational mode is unable to substitute. The family education's content is various, including family moral education, family physical and mental development education, family intellectual instruction, family esthetic education and so on.As a part of family education,the family moral education is its core and soul, which composes the moral education system together with the school moral education and the social moral education.In this system, the family moral education is in the foundation and the outset status, playing a role in the social morality and the individual morality bidirectional interaction .The family moral education is also a a part of moral education,besides, the moral education which is the synthesis of morality and education is an important dimension in education field.It is a tradition of our nation to think highly of family moral education . The development of times and changes of family structure pose great and various challenges on family moral education.Such as more attention on intellectual education than on moral teaching , lack of scientific education methods, conflicts caused by generation gap, the unhealthy impact of Internet and neighbourhood apathy, peer education loss, etc. How to deal with these problems scientifically is of great importance, not only to the growth of a person , but also to China's economic development and the social harmony and stability. Therefore, we should update education paradigm, carry out parent-school cooperation,integrate social resources, make good use of the outstanding achievements of family moral education from home and abroad , perfect the relevant laws and regulations, and constantly pay more attention to family moral education.The paper is divided into three parts: In Part One , the author firstly studies the overview of the family moral education in contemporary China, then elaborates related concepts of families and family moral education ,making their relationship clearly and expounding practical significance of family moral education . Part Two analyses the present situation of the family moral education in contemporary China, the author puts forward several prominent problems existing by analysing,and tries to find their reasons. Part Three is the strategic research of strengthening and improving the family moral education in contemporary China.The paper combine theoretical study with practical study, striving to offer effective countermeasures to improve the feasibility and operability of family moral education in China.
