With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the collapse of the bipolar system, the world has entered the stage of development of multi-polar system, Mongolia’s domestic and international environment has undergone tremendous changes in its foreign policy has also come into the adjustment period is beginning to change during the Cold War with the Soviet Union fully-alliance "one-sided foreign policy in favor of the introduction of a national interest first, multi-directional foreign policy in the21st century.1994adopted by the State Great Hural of Mongolia,"Mongolia’s foreign policy vision, Mongolia to implement an open, non-aligned foreign policy of the fulcrum. For the two giant neighbors China and Russia, Mongolia to implement the good-neighborly and friendly policy of "engagement" for the United States, Mongolia, the so-called "third neighbors" thought, about to the United States as the third neighboring countries outside China and Russia through the positive development of relations with the United States to balance the pressure from China and Russia, to maintain peace and stability in Mongolia’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and the region.Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia and the United States, the overall development of their bilateral relations smoothly, especially with the launching of the Movement for Democratic Change in Mongolia, the United States continue to increase support for the U.S., between the two countries in political, economic, science education, the military has formed a all aspects of partnership.The development of relations between Mongolia and the U.S. is the need of national interests of the two countries, and both of them draw what they want in the process of cooperation between the two countries. The motion of development of relations between Mongolia and the U.S. are many, mainly include the need of consolidate the national security of Mongolia and Mongolian domestic economic development needs, and the U.S. want Mongolia to play a strategic role of checks and balances the development of China and Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. The relation of Mongolia and the U.S. is impacted by the relation between China and Mongolia, the Russia’s geopolitical and the role that Mongolia in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization three aspects. The prospects of the relations between Mongolia and the U.S. will continue to strengthen with the transfer of the U.S. strategic focusing on the Asia-Pacific, and the need of counter-terrorism, the relation has far-reaching impact on the China, Russia, and the U.S. triangular relationship, and the balance of the Asia Pacific Strategy pattern. This paper consists five parts. The first chapter is the introduction; introduce the meaning of topics and the value, combing the domestic and international research on the relationship between Mongolia and the U.S. The second chapter is the evolution of Mongolia’s foreign policy after the Cold War, analyzing the relation during the Cold War and after the end of the Cold War. The third chapter is the process of the relation between Mongolia and the U.S., Using before the establishment of diplomatic relations and afterwards two aspects, analyzing the various fields of political, economic, military and education, scientific. The fourth chapter is the development power and influence factor of the relation between Mongolia and the U.S., mainly from the security and economic two aspects. The fifth chapter is the last part, looking forward the prospect of the relation.
