Ever since the 1970s, the tide of market economy, together with the reform and opening-up, promoted a rapid transfer of the rural labor force into urban areas. Migrant Workers have formed a new class in our social structure. They are part of the industrial workers, and they are a great labor force released from rural areas as well. The traditional social security system, which is based on the household registration system, shows its exclusive side to migrant workers in its operation. From the first generation of migrant workers to the new generation of migrant workers put forward in No.1 central documents, they have become the main labor force in many urban industries. The Party's third plenary session emphasize "We should guarantee production safety and improve the working conditions of migrant workers, expand pension, medical, work injury insurance's coverage, formulate the transferring pension continuation approach of the development and implementation of migrant workers as soon as possible. But, data from different kinds of survey show that, none of the social security Policies designed for migrant workers can really their demands on social security and the two modes of social security for migrant workers have shown their defects in operation. The migrant workers are making great contributions for the construction and development of Chinese economy. They are a crack troop of the whole labor force, but they belong to the disadvantaged groups in social life. So analysis various influencing factors of the migrant workers' social security has important theory research signification to analysis the migrant workers' social security, and it have practical significance for us to formulate policies, which can enhance the level of migrant workers' social security and achieve the equal rights of migrant workers.In order to achieve the above goals, insured status of migrant workers, insurance will, the most wanted insurance, as well as the determinants of migrant workers' insured status, insurance will, and the wish are analyzed in this study. Influencing factors are drawn from a theoretical model, and followed by an empirical model. The data used in this study is from our primary questionnaire survey of migrant workers in Nanjing, in July-August 2010.According to the specific feature of objects under model observation, the model is estimated by LOGIT and MULTINOMIAL LOGIT for the willingness of participate in social securityThe rates of social security for migrant workers are low, which is influenced by gender, age, education, career, work, and skills; Migrant workers with older age, high educational level, job stability, job skills have more intense on the will of participate in social security; Educational level, employment, industry, skills, has it or not, job stability and other factors affect the strength of migrant workers in pension, health care, work injury and unemployment insurance among the four types of insurance strength of the will. Finally, according to the conclusions above, several suggestions are proposed on how to improve the participation rate of social security of migrant workers.
