Study On Influence Of The New Social Strata On Chinese Social Development

The social stratum structure is the core of the social structure, which is affecting every aspect of social life. Since the reform and opening-up, China has transformed from an agricultural society to an industrial society, from the planned economy to the socialist market economy, and there are tremendous changes in all fields of economic, political and social life. All these changes promoted the change of the social stratum structure. The original"Two Classes and One Stratum"structure broke up, and the social stratum structure developed in the direction of diversification, forming the new social strata such as entrepreneurs and technicians of private technology enterprises, managerial and technical staff employed by overseas-funded enterprises, the self-employed, private business owners, employees in intermediaries, freelance professionals, etc.The emergence of the new social strata has its historical necessity. The main impetus for the emergence are the development of productive forces and the adjustment in the relations of production, the adjustment of industrial structure, the promotion of the reform and opening-up and the market economy, and the policy transformation of the Party and the state.In the flood tide of the reform and opening-up, the new social strata develop rapidly, not only increasing in quantity and scale, but also having huge impacts on our country's social development. In economic aspect, they create great fortunes, relieve the employment pressure, and promote the development of productive forces and the change in production relations. In political aspect, they maintain the harmony and stability of the society, promote the construction of democratic politics and the socialist legal system, promote the transformation of government functions, and accelerate the reform of the political system. Everything has two sides. The new social strata promote our country's social development, at the same time they cause some negative effects on social development, such as expanding the gap of the income, aggravating the imbalance of the economic development, deepening the contradictions among all strata, and instigating conflicts in the fields of thought and culture.On the basis of making correct analyses of historical evolution, causes and components of the new social strata, starting from three aspects of economic, political and social life, the thesis discusses the new social strata's influence on the social development in our country from both positive and negative, and then puts forward proposals that how to guide the new social strata to better serve for the building of socialism with Chinese characteristic.
