The Research On The Mode Of Urban Community Participation

With the collapse of our system of units and the development of urbanization, urban communities have become an important part of primary city management. Construction and development of urban communities depends on broad participation of community residents. The positive and effective community participation is an important guarantee in urban development and community building. In this paper, x community in Jinan Shandong province is a typical case. According to the participation attitude of community residents and residential committee in community affairs, it is divided into four different types of community participation:participation off the field, citizen participation, performance and benefits participation. The mode of community participation in the city is analyzed by collective action theory. Through interviews, we found that Chinese community participation can't take the path of the western citizen participation, also can't return to the public participation before reform and opening up. But affected by the traditional public participation, the residential committee is so prominent its control effect in foster community participation that influences the benign development of urban community participation. Therefore, how to grasp the degree between management and control for residential committee in community participation is an important precondition of community construction and participation.
