The Research Of Altruistic Behavior

Nowadays, under the background of changeable economy and rapid change society, people's behavior present diversified type. However, people, as a morale species, behave an altruistic behavior at the most time in many ways. The disposition of altruistic behavior is one of the characters of human beings. The altruistic behavior can be divided into three levels. The first one is surface altruistic behavior, next comes superficial altruistic behavior, and the last one is deep altruistic behavior. On the basis of theory research, this paper conducts a profound research from the prospective of psychology. We selected 239 subjects, strictly acting on the criterion about altruistic behavior and the rigorous projection tests. Using the tools of Social Empathy Ability﹑Machiavellianism QuestionnaireⅣ(version 1)﹑Trusting in People﹑ Altruistic Behavior Questionnaire﹑ self conscious Questionnaire and individual interview, we analysis and research altruistic behavior. Through the experimental research, we come to the conclusions as follows:(1)Different aged groups indicate different altruistic behavior level. Overall, the altruistic behavior level presents an inverted U curve. That is to say, those who are in the early youth and old stage demonstrate a higher altruistic behavior level, but those who are in the young and middle-aged demonstrate a lower altruistic behavior level.(2)To some extent, those who get religious have a higher altruistic behavior level.(3)Overall, there is a negative correlation between altruistic behavior level and education background. That is to say, those who have a lower education background present a higher altruistic behavior level.(4)There is a positive correlation between altruistic behavior level and empathy ability﹑trusting in people, but a negative correlation between altruistic behavior level and Machiavellianism﹑self-ego.(5)Through path analysis, we find the structure of altruistic behavior are formed by high empathy ability﹑high trusting in people﹑low Machiavellianism and low self-ego.
