At the beginning of the 21st century, as the third industry services have a great boom. As the time, Hotel service industry has become the pillar of its tertiary industrial sectors. With the development of the Chinese modem services, The development of Chinese Hotel service industry need more and more practitioners of hotel service and management with great English. Because English,as one of the most important means of communication, is almost used every where. As the same time, the lots of hotel service major practitioners are trained in secondary vocational schools. However English teaching in the secondary vocational schools is far from satisfactory. Their English learning skills and interests are alarming.Because their poor English communication skill, weak learning motivation and strong anxiety in English learning classes. As the teacher working in the secondary vocational school have to research a suitable teaching method just for secondary vocational school students. Today, cooperative learning is very popular. Most of them have come to an agreement that cooperative leaning can noticeably reduce foreign language learners' anxiety while increase their motivation and self-confidence in foreign language learning. Meanwhile, most of the research took students in middle schools or colleges as their subjects, and got the success. But, little of researcher has been devoted to secondary vocational school students, because of their unique features, they don't have the learning motivation and interests to learn English. In the secondary vocational school, students suffer more from unhealthy affect during their English learning than regular students in colleges or middle schools. Thus, it is very important and more urgent for educators to work out an appropriate teaching method for them. In this teaching research, the researcher chooses two parallel classes of hotel service major in the secondary vocational school. There are about more than 100 students participated (but only 78 valid) in the test. This research lasts 15 weeks, the researcher attempt to answer the following questions:1) Can cooperative learning influence the English learning outcomes of hotel service major secondary vocational school students? And how?2) Can cooperative learning influence the English learning affect of hotel service and management major secondary vocational school students? And how?At the beginning, there are two pre-test have to conduct in the experimental class (EC) and the control class (CC). The results of these two preā€”tests prove that no significant difference exists between the two classes in terms of their original affect and English proficiency. Then, in EC conducts a cooperative learning training, they can be taught how to cooperate with other partners while learning. And during the 15 they require to discuss together, and achieve their leaning aim together; As the same time, the students in CC are asked to learn the same thing in a traditional way. At the end of the research, the two classed should have another learning affect questionnaire, which is almost the same as that in pre-test. Also, another English test is carried out in both classes to find out whether their English proficiency has improved. The research results show that:1) The English classroom anxiety of hotel service major secondary vocational school students can be reduced by cooperative learning,meanwhile increase their English learning motivation.2) The English learning outcomes can be increased by cooperative learning of hotel service and management major secondary vocational school students.
