There are lots of people who criticize the old views upon children and promote new ones during the New Culture Movement, Zhou Zuoren is a representational one. About views on children, Zhou accepted"Children Orientation"views early in his years. He thought that people should not only respect children as human being, but also respect children as children with their own specific characteristics and pay attention to their inner world. Then he put forward that people should carry researches on children to direct education. About education for children, he thought highly of the importance of children's education to individual and the whole country. He also suggested that educational contents for children should fit for children's characteristics, fairy tales and ballads are important parts of the contents. Meanwhile, sexual education also should not be neglected. He discussed the importance of home education as well, and deemed that games and toys are main ways in education for children. Besides, he also verified the theory in practice. He organized exhibition for performance of primary school, translated and introduced educational contents for children. Compare with his contemporaries, Zhou's opinions on children and children's education have more scientificalness, democracy and have thorough spirit of against feudal.There are five parts in this paper:Part one is introduction, mainly discuss the meaning of selecting this topic, the key point and difficulties of this research and relevant sum up of the research.Part two is the study on Zhou Zuoren's view on children, include the origin, the development and the features.Part three is about Zhou's thoughts on children's education. Mainly discuss Zhou's value upon children's education, opinions towards educational contents( whether fairy tales, myths and ballads can be part of the contents, whether children should have sexual education etc.), advocate of home education and value upon the importance of games and toys play part in the education.Part four is research on Zhou's practice in children's education, include the exhibition for performance of primary school he organized in Shaoxing and the translation and introduction of educational contents for children later.The last part of the paper is conclusion.
