The word "meme" is the imitation of the term "gene"; it is first mentioned by the famous English zoologist Richard Dawkins (1976) in his publication of "The Selfish Gene". Meme and language are closely linked. Language meme chiefly surveys the language and relevant phenomenon from the perspective of memetics. Language meme not only reveals a pattern of language development, but also provides a new way of thinking in English language teachingIn the view of relevant memetics theories, this article takes the characteristics of memes, lifecycle and forms of transmission as an entry point to research the English vocabulary teaching in middle schools. Moreover, the application to English vocabulary teaching from the angle of memetics is discussed from listening, speaking, reading, writing and some other aspects. Thus, the efficiency of teaching has been improved, and learners can learn language in an easy way during a relatively short period of time.
